The Shenandoah Valley’s original American Bistro, Byers Street Bistro opened in 2000 with a vision and some homegrown determination. The renovated 1800’s warehouse in historic downtown Staunton features hardwood floors and huge exposed beams to create a truly unique atmosphere. Extremely popular with the locals, the Bistro has been serving up chef-inspired spins on American classics, prohibition era cocktails, and a thriving bar that features local musicians.
Located in historic downtown Harrisonburg and named after James Madison (Go Dukes!). Jimmy’s, located in an 1870’s post-civil war era building, the interior has been opened up to expose the beauty of the large wooden beams and handmade brick construction. Designed specifically for the Harrisonburg community Jimmy’s opened in 2014 featuring Modern Southern Cuisine and extensive Whiskey Bar setting itself apart as well as complimenting the other area restaurants. In 2017, Jimmy’s expanded and opened a 4,000 square-foot rooftop bar that overlooks Historic Court Square.
A local tradition located in historic downtown Lexington, Virginia was established in 1975. The Palms, located in a building that was built in 1836 by The Franklin Society, originally used as a debating club and to provide a public library for the community. The Palms started out as the Palms Parlor serving ice cream and slowly began to evolve over the years always serving the local community as well as Washington & Lee University and Virginia Military Institute students. Today The Palms reflects a step back in time with pressed tin ceilings while serving up Modern American Cuisine in a festive pub atmosphere.
