The Shenandoah Valley’s original American Bistro, Byers Street Bistro opened in 2000 with a vision and some homegrown determination. The renovated 1800’s warehouse in historic downtown Staunton features hardwood floors and huge exposed beams to create a truly unique atmosphere. Extremely popular with the locals, the Bistro has been serving up chef-inspired spins on American classics, prohibition era cocktails, and a thriving bar that features local musicians.
Located in historic downtown Harrisonburg and honoring James Madison (Go Dukes!), Jimmy’s opened in 2014 and is located in an 1870s building that has been thoughtfully renovated to expose its beautiful large wooden beams and handmade brick construction. Designed specifically for the Harrisonburg community, Jimmy’s features Modern Southern Cuisine and an extensive Whiskey Bar, setting itself apart while complementing the other area restaurants. In 2017, Jimmy’s expanded to open a 4,000-square-foot rooftop bar overlooking Historic Court Square.
A local tradition was born in 1975 when The Palms opened in historic downtown Lexington, Virginia. The Palms’ building, constructed in 1836 by The Franklin Society, was originally used as a debating club and to provide a public library for the community. The Palms began as the Palms Parlor (serving ice cream!) and evolved to serve a full menu to the local community and to students from Washington & Lee University and Virginia Military Institute. With its pressed tin ceiling, The Palms reflects its heritage while serving up Modern American Cuisine in a festive pub atmosphere.
